Continuing our Reconciliation Action Plan Journey With Staff Cultural Awareness Training

As we continue on our reconciliation journey at ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵֱ²¥ College, we have recently updated our Reconciliation Action Plan. This important plan incorporates student, parent and staff voice; has been approved by Reconciliation Australia; and is designed to help us continue to foster meaningful connections between First Nations Australians and our College community.

As part of the plan, we are committed to supporting staff to reflect on and build cultural responsiveness to improve our practice and best support the needs of First Nations students. With this commitment in mind, on Monday we were delighted to be joined by Peramangk and Ngarrindjeri woman Rebecca Hunter-Harvey from , who delivered a cultural awareness training session for all staff—leadership, teaching, administration and support staff. Her presentation—which was honest, thought-provoking and action-inspiring—was delivered with sensitivity and a wonderful positive sense of hope for the future. As a College, we thank Rebecca for sharing with our staff across all three campuses as we continue to implement our Reconciliation Action Plan while walking together towards reconciliation.
